In his latest report, sports reporter James Piercey points out that the Rockets may need a point guard for the 2025-26 season, but Ja Morant of the Grizzlies is clearly not the answer.

Thirdly, Morant's health is a concern; he has only played 44.7 games per season in his career so far, making him extremely injury-prone. In summary, his uncertainties in various aspects make him unworthy of any significant asset from the Rockets.
Finally, James Piercey stated: "Morant is not the 'final piece' of a championship team, but more like the 'first domino' of a rebuilding team. Any team that acquires Morant must rebuild their roster around him, create spacing, mask his weaknesses, and amplify his strengths."
